She begins by discussing the relationship between history, tradition, and change, and goes on to look at three of the ways that Anglicans have handled conflict and controversy throughout history. Thompsett then discusses how theological insight can be "recycled" to shed new light on the problems of today, leading us to consider how a knowledge of history informs the present, and how we ourselves are part of church history.
